Lecia James

Lecia James, co-founder of Horizon Family Medical Practice, is a family nurse practitioner specializing in internal medicine with Dr. Oscar Mendez’ hospitalist group at Florida Medical Center, covering the surgical, neuroscience, cardiac, and critical care units, and at Nspire of Tamarac and Life Care of Inverrary specializing in geriatric care. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Broward College, then earned her Master of Science in Nursing from South University at Savannah, Georgia. Lecia holds a national board certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANPCB) as a family nurse practitioner and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She has over twelve years of experience as a registered nurse/charge nurse working in the Broward Health Hospital district. Her short term goal is to pursue a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.
